Indexing software that reports what actually got indexed
Every tool in this category submits URLs. The submission is the easy part — it is a handful of API calls. What separates tools worth paying for is whether they can tell you, afterwards, which URLs are in the index and how long each one took.
The three kinds of indexing software
The distinction is not marketing positioning. It decides whether your dashboard reflects reality.
| Approach | What it does | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Submitters | Fires URLs at the Indexing API and IndexNow, reports "submitted". | Submitted is not indexed. You are told the request succeeded, not that the page exists in search. |
| Link indexers | Builds crawl paths to backlinks so engines discover them. | Optimised for link buyers, not site owners. Often adjacent to practices that carry real risk. |
| Submit + verify | Submits across every channel, then re-checks each URL against Google's own verdict. | Slower to show a green tick, because the tick means something. |
What to check before you pay for any of it
Does it measure, or only submit?
Ask what data source backs the word "indexed". If the answer is anything other than the Search Console URL Inspection API or a real SERP check, the number is a guess. Ours is URL Inspection, re-run on a decaying schedule — 1h, 6h, 24h, 3d, 7d, 14d.
What happens when a page drops out?
Indexed is not permanent. Pages get de-indexed and most tools never look again. We re-inspect indexed URLs every 14 days and tell you when one falls out.
Is quota charged on submissions or results?
Charging per indexed page sounds customer-friendly and is a red flag: nobody controls Google's decision, so that pricing model requires either fudging the definition or absorbing unbounded cost. We bill per URL submitted and say so.
Does it cover non-Google engines?
Google is one engine. IndexNow reaches Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver for free, and plenty of tools skip it entirely.
Does it promise guaranteed indexing?
If yes, walk away. Google decides what it indexes. Any guarantee is either meaningless in the fine print or a straightforward untruth.
